The Non-Skid Water Stone Holder is made to stabilise and firmly hold Japanese Water Stones steady, whilst you concentrate on the sharpening of your knives and chisels etc. Its heavy duty rubber holders, one at either end, are designed so that your Japanese Water Stones is securely clamped but not put under stress and will therefore not get chipped. There is also a sliding central rubber support that should be moved to the middle of the stone once it is placed in the holder, which will prevent the stone from snapping should excessive pressure be applied to the middle of the stone whilst sharpening is taking place. 

The Non-Skid Water Stone Holder will fit any sharpening stone up to 8 1/4 Inches (207mm) in length, the stone being clamped by tightening each of the two knurled screws.

The Holders also act as stable foot supports preventing your Japanese Water Stone from sliding away as you are applying working pressure on the stone, whilst sharpening. This sliding action will just as easily, if not more easily, wear away the soft metal of your kitchen-sink draining board, or in fact any hard work surface, as you sharpen your knife blade.

The Non-Skid Water Stone Holder is also ideal for use with any oil stones or diamond stones.
