This beautifully elegant styled 'B' Shaped Fire Steel was popular from the medieval times right up until the 19th Century.  Many Fire Steel designs were based on some of the characters of the Alphabet such as B, C, R and U. This simple 'B' shaped Fire Steel, although simple in design, still has an elegance to it and is very pleasant and easy to hold. It produces a cascade of sparks when stuck by a piece of Flint.  

Our Fire Steels have been specially designed to spark efficiently when using the correct striking technique, and that optimal spark generation can only really be achieved when using a new super sharp piece of flint, as well as some good quality, and dry tinder, such as Char Cloth, Amadou or Chaga.
